Mountains and Plains of Pluto

Mountains and plains of Pluto photo from the New Horizons spacecraft

Fascinating images are being transmitted to Earth from the revolutionary New Horizons spacecraft, which came its closest to Pluto in July this year. This NASA Astronomy Photo of the Day shows never-before-seen detail of the dwarf planet's topography of mountains and plains. Very amazing!
